Pregnancy Wonders Never Cease

Just when I was learning to live with my chronic back and hip pain (because I have no other choice, according to my doctors), the last 2 days I've been having EXCRUCIATING carpal tunnel pain.

I suffered from mild carpal tunnel syndrome over a decade ago and took ibuprofen for the pain which really helped. Guess what I'm not allowed to take now that I'm pregnant? Bingo. Tylenol dulls the pain a little bit, but doesn't wholly eliminate it. I'll have to scoot over to CVS (sorry Kayly :)) and get some wrist braces.

I'm not posting this merely to whine about my newest malady, but to let the handful of folks who actually read this little blog o' mine know that my posting frequency may decline until my symptoms are better under control.

Now I have to go wash a mountain of dirty dishes by hand, which I'm sure will aggravate things even further. There HAS to be a prescription pain killer out there somewhere that's safe to take during pregnancy. Why won't they give it to me???? Evil bastards.

Have you consulted a cranial osteopath? They can work absolute wonders in cases where doctors claim nothing could be done. Certainly, they made my HBA2C possible where a doctor would have just booked me in for a third section.

Not saying it *will* help, just that it *might.*

Or acupuncture. But ask or research whether arnica gel is okay. I use it when my joint and muscle pain is worse than normal and it really does help a little. Enough that, with the Tylenol, it might get you through. And don't forget ice it/heat it/repeat it. It helps a great deal with the inflammation.
CVS??? AAAACCCKKK!
P.S. Did ya see Nancy Keenan at the DNC tonight? She my gurl, yo.

P.P.S. Warm up your hands and wrists before doing any repetitive work, too. I get (by the case from Costco) those hand warmer packets hunters use in the winter and then use them in a pair of gloves when my pain is bad in my hands and wrists. ( I actually have fingerless gloves I use.)
Or any of the stylish gloves here. (I actually have these on my wishlist. How geeky and old am I???

Guess what, I am a cranial osteopath, and I treat pregnant women all the time. Also, the wrist braces will really help. You don't have to suffer! Let me know if you'd like some names of people in your area. My work email is crumpdo at sbcglobal dot net.
