The Obama Campaign Outsmarts Me Again

I've been crowing for months about the Obama campaign not pulling out one of the biggest guns in their arsenal--McCain's ties to the Keating Five.

I thought they'd dropped the ball on this one, or waited too long at the very least. Turns out their timing is perfect in light of the recent economic crisis.

Obama camp raises McCain’s ties to Charles Keating

I just don't know if sending messages to supporters and a 13-minute documentary are enough. I mean, this is it. This is the big one. Throw some money at it for Christ's sweet sake! I think they should aggressively run ads in the battleground states to solidify and secure Obama's lead. Hopefully the media will seize on the documentary and run soundbites 24/7. Maybe that's what the campaign is counting on.

There are at least 2 527s re:Keating 5/McPain running here in Harrisburg, but cannot remember who they are from.
We also have A LOT of viral type marketing, radio ads and tv ads running here. But my favorite is still the Dish network channel. It has an interactive button, so when ever you watch an Obama ad on any Dish network channel, the interactive button pops up and says "press select to learn more more about obama's plan." But that is not just in PA, obviously.
The variety of the websites the campaign has out is amazing, too.

Right-on Vicki. I posted about the Keating 5 a couple times and wondered why the Obama folks were not. Now they are, strategically timed as best they see it. I wish they would go further too.

Once again, we don't get the really ugly commercials here in NJ because we're not a battleground state, so I'm not always sure what's going on in other states campaign-wise. I just didn't see a plan for Keating 5-specific ads in that article.

Glad to know the "gloves are off" in PA. If I hear that phrase one more time, or one more person use "crater" as a verb, I think I'll vomit.

Not that crater as a verb is gramatically incorrect, I just hate its overuse. What's wrong with "bomb" or "tank" or "screw the pooch?" That last is a personal favorite solely for its 50s flavor
